Dru Cowan, co-founder and event planner at Hot Stuff Studios, led this workshop. Dru has been a part of organizing over 100 events since 2018, 45 in 2022 alone. Most events were community centered and intimate in size. These events have ranged from open mics to paint nites to music events and art workshops.

Why Community Event Planning?

In a Care Economy, we must have intentional spaces where we come together and grow our community. Community is an essential resource for our survival. The role of the event planner is to support new connections. These new or strengthening connections creates a social safety net, a web where excess resources can be distributed so that we can all get our needs and desires met.
